Burma (Myanmar)

Burma ruby is the infamous source of ruby gemstones. The best and most famous, as well as the most expensive rubies in the world, are Burmese rubies. Thailand is the capital of rubies, though, and is the major centre for the cutting, polishing and trading of different types of Manik stones.

Vietnamese rubies are known for their vibrant scarlet and deep red hues. Pigeon blood ruby stones are also found here in the country’s abundant mineral deposits. The primary source is the Luc Yen Area, which has been known for several decades for producing high-quality rubies. The gems found here are mostly of good clarity with a clear surface and no visible inclusions or very few inclusions. 

The value of the gems depends on the size and colors mostly, but those with fewer flaws are sold at INR 3 to 8 lakhs per carat.

The treatment processes are done on gemstones to enhance their clarity and color. The low-quality gemstones that are treated will cost less since there is always demand for natural gems of good quality in the market.
