Step 3 - From the starting point to the point where the tape measure wraps your whole finger and overlaps with the starting point, check the measurement. Dont let the measure be too loose or tight.
Step 4 - Look at these measurements in mm and then check your size according to that circumference measurement in the ring size chart given below. The size in number or alphabet mentioned in the ring chart is your size according to standards of your country. Check the country in the table and your size accordingly to tell your jeweler.

You can simply measure ring size of yours at home with a string/paper strip and a ruler.
It is very easy actually, you just have to take a string or a strip of paper.
Now wrap it around the base of the finger you want the ring for.
Mark where the string or paper strip overlaps with a marker or a pen.
Now, take a ruler and measure the string or the paper alongside it perfectly.
Write down the length that you get of the strip from the starting of the string or paper to the mark in millimetres. It is the circumference of your finger.
Now check the size of yours in this ring size chart provided below according to this size you write down in mm’s.
For example, if your string or paper comes 60 mm then your ring size as per Indian standards is 20.
