Which is costly, a diamond or an emerald?

The cost of a gemstone is determined based on 4Cs: Cut, clarity, colour and Cut.

An emerald stone price ranges between INR 2,000 to 5 Lakhs per carat based on these factors. The exclusive Panna gem with a deep dark green color with uniform distribution, no under or overtone and finely cut, and fewer inclusions will cost around millions per carat.

If a  Panna stone and a diamond are of the same cut, clarity, and size, then the cost of the natural green emeralds will be higher.
